It is a tradition during Chinese New Year for visitors to flock to the famous tree and write wishes on a placard. Then, these wishes are tied to a mandarin, an auspicious fruit, and thrown high up on the tree for good luck. But the placard has to stay in place for the wish to come true. Other than this custom, visitors can also enjoy carnival games and music shows.
