Bangkok’s neighbourhoods grow hipper exponentially, with each developing its own identity and allure. The next time you find yourself in Langsuan, here are the best cocktail bars in the area and what to order when you’re there.
Over the past years, Langsuan has turned into a very lively district. There’re a whole lot of dinner destinations to choose from in the area, from wood-fired pizzas to scrumptious seafood. Langsuan’s bar scene should not be overlooked, either. Many of them are easily accessible from the Chit Lom BTS station and within walking distance from one another.
Of course, what to order is based on your taste, but some highlights are must-tries you to experience. From the award-winning Vesper, 4th Wall prioritises classic cocktails with a subtle twist, like a Bloody Mary with a chicken skin garnish. Fresh off their Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2024 anointment, FireFly sprinkles old world opulence with cocktails that inspire wanderlust and a side of jazz.

Crimson Room also leans on a musical element. The Langsuan bar goes heavy on jazz and swanky cocktails like a chocolatey Negroni. Bar.Yard guarantees tiki drinks and a raucous atmosphere, while Anju brings soju bombs and Korean food to a rooftop. If you automatically dismiss restaurant bars, Ms.Jigger might change your mind with its warm hospitality and Thailand-inspired drinks.
Like its name, The Black Cat presents cocktails representing different feline breeds, with many of them made with Thai spirits. Then there’s The Pickwicks Chronicles. Based on a novel by Charles Dickens, its intrigue is matched by an extensive library of gins. Read on to find out more.

Ms.Jigger

Bars that share the same space with restaurants are often victims of prejudgment, but as we sat down and took a sip at Ms.Jigger, the clinks of silverware and chatter of dining guests seemed to quickly fade away. All that was left were the drinks we ordered, the bookcase of spirits in front, and the bar’s warm hospitality. The signature menu takes you on a journey to different parts of Thailand through drinks like Thai milk tea with Campari (THB440/~S$16).

The Black Cat‘s concept is all about auspiciousness, presenting cocktails as different cat breeds that many cultures see as good luck. They also feature quite several Thai spirits. However, flip through the pages and you’ll see the wide array of classic cocktails they offer at THB350 each (~S$13), from bar staples to lesser-known creations. The French Martini is a fruity take on the Vodka Martini with pineapple and raspberry. The Pink Squirrel is a rich and creamy drink with notes of almond and chocolate.

The Pickwicks Chronicles

The Pickwicks Chronicles is inspired by Charles Dickens’s “The Pickwick Papers,” a story of a group of friends who travel to a bleak, desolate place: England. At the bar, each character makes an appearance as a signature cocktail. Although all of the drinks are equally charming, we found ourselves especially dazzled by their gin-based selection, such as the Tracy Tupman (THB350/~S$13), pairing Lady Trieu Dalat Flowerbomb Gin with watermelon and mint. They have a great selection of gins, so go wild, Martini enthusiasts. Out of the many bars in Langsuan, this one may capture your heart.
