Join Veuve Clicquot for an Exclusive Champagne-Fueled Train Journey Aboard the Iconic Eastern & Oriental Express

LOVERS OF UNIQUE LUXURIES will insist on being present this year to celebrate a once-in-a-lifetime collaboration between two of the most iconic names in worldly indulgences.

After more than 250 years of sun-filled solaire journeys, French Champagne Maison Veuve Clicquot is hosting a trio of once-in-a-lifetime, bubbly-filled excursions on board the world’s most iconic Belmond trains, paired with unforgettable excursions and unmatched gastronomy.

The first of these outings will take place aboard Southeast Asia’s most luxurious train, the Eastern & Oriental Express, a Belmond Train. Reservations are now available for the 22-25 April 2024 journey, affording you the opportunity to call one of only 15 newly restyled carriages on the renowned train — including Pullman, State and Presidential Suites — your very own.

Legendary Journey

The train’s three-night cinematic journey begins in Singapore and travels through the wondrous beauty of Malaysia’s jungle landscapes to Penang and back to Singapore.

Solaire Journey

Along the way, guests on the lavish train will be able to toast with a total of 19 rare and beloved Veuve Clicquot cuvées as they ride alongside host and Veuve Clicquot Cellar Master Didier Mariotti.

Amongst the exceptional champagne vintages that will flow along the train ride are the unique Extra Brut Old, the La Grande Dame series (2008, 2012, 2015 and the Rosé 2004, 2012, 2015) and an exclusive selection of The Cave Privée series (1989, 1990, 1995 and the Rosé 1989, 1996).

The journey is inspired by the timeless story of Madame Clicquot, a free-spirited businesswoman known as “la grande dame de la Champagne,” and the joyful essence of the champagne’s iconic yellow label, which has been inviting guests to follow the sun and their dreams into joyful and immersive new experiences since 1772.

In an unforgettable overland journey that blends sun-soaked adventure, champagne and gastronomy, guests will fete each passing tableau and pair each stem of bubbles with exceptional food pairings from the chef of Singapore’s famed CÉ LA VI SkyBar and Eastern & Oriental Express’ newly appointed Culinary Curator Chef André Chiang.

Guests can expect bespoke experiences, including stunning sunrises, gorgeous sunsets, incredible amenities, personalised gifts and exclusive access to the House’s Cellar Master.

Incredible Itinerary

Veuve Clicquot

The outing begins with a lavish Solaire Champagne Welcome Brunch at CÉ LA VI SkyBar overlooking Singapore’s Marina Bay before transferring to the Eastern & Oriental Express.

That evening, enjoy a sunset aperitif with Cellar Master Mariotti to the dulcet sounds of live music as the train enters Malaysia and guests are seated for a celebratory dinner showcasing Chef Chiang’s passion for Asian fusion cuisine alongside tastings of rare and exquisite Veuve Clicquot vintages and an evening passed raising glasses of the world’s best bubbly around the piano bar as a professional storyteller shares tales from history of the storied champagne house.

On the second day, guests rise at dawn for a sunrise champagne breakfast and an extraordinary outing in Taman Negara National Park, where you can choose from tiger conservation tours, nature photography walks or cave exploration as you sip champagne.

An elegant lunch follows onboard the train before a Veuve Clicquot cuvée tasting in the piano bar and a Garden Gastronomy-themed dinner.

Breakfast on the third day is served in your cabin and affords guests the chance to truly explore the legendary train. After lunch, guests disembark in Penang’s George Town, where they can enjoy an art tour in the Old Quarter, a cooking course or transport for private exploration by traditional tri-shaw with a driver. That evening, a spectacular gala dinner is accompanied by live music and a DJ. On the final morning, return to Singapore with a plethora of incredible memories.

To celebrate 250 years of sun-filled optimism, Veuve Clicquot and Belmond’s exclusive rail journeys will flow with rare champagnes, luxury carriages, culinary brilliance and bespoke excursions to honour Veuve’s storied history and iconic anniversary.

Veuve Clicquot’s future Solaire Journeys onboard iconic Belmond Trains will cover routes from Vienna to Reims in July onboard the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express, a Belmond Train, and from Cusco to Machu Pichu and Arequipa in October, onboard the Hiram Bingham and Andean Explorer, Belmond trains.

Tickets are on sale now for the Southeast Asian journey, taking place 22-25 April 2024. To learn more and reserve your place, visit www.belmond.com/trains/asia/eastern-and-oriental-express/journeys/solaire-journey-veuve-clicquot.
