Fly to North America on Japan Airlines Highly Anticipated New A350-1000

THERE HAVE ALWAYS BEEN compelling reasons to choose Japan Airlines (JAL) for travellers looking to fly to North America via Japan — from a heightened level of comfort with generous legroom to the ease of connecting to North American destinations. Now, there are even more reasons to choose the APEX WORLD CLASS and SKYTRAX five-star airline for your flight to North America. JAL has recently introduced its highly anticipated A350-1000 into its fleet.

The new A350-1000 offer a compelling option for travellers taking long-haul flights to the Americas from Japan, Southeast Asia, and beyond.

The A350-1000 took their inaugural flights in January of 2024, and so far, guests are thrilled with the stylish and comfortable new cabins. They report loving the enhanced seating options, innovative amenities and spacious surrounds — as well as even more personalised service from the professionals at JAL.

The new international aircraft provide daily flights from Tokyo’s Haneda Airport to New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport, with the fleet expanding its range to include flights from Tokyo to Dallas and from Tokyo to London later this year and continually adding routes as the rest of the fleet of 13 new aircraft is delivered to JAL.

Experience the innovative comfort of these new planes — set to become the airline’s new paradigm for international service — and the range of options they offer to deliver you to your destination comfortably, well-rested and ready to take on your next business meeting or exciting adventure.

The A350-1000 Difference

The first thing you’ll notice when you step onboard JAL’s A350-1000 is the wider range of seating options, enhanced entertainment systems, and a sleek and stylish aircraft that delivers a quieter inflight experience.

The cabin interiors have been tailored to JAL’s specifications and crafted to offer an immersive journey into elegant and tranquil Japanese aesthetics. This results in a serene ambience that references Japan’s culture and beauty.

Before you arrive at the airport, you’ll notice that you can plan your inflight entertainment experience from the JAL Mobile App, creating a list of favourites you can enjoy onboard.

Once in your seat or suite, you’ll appreciate the incredible resolution of 4K monitors available in all classes. You can also connect your personal audio device via Bluetooth for an even more immersive experience.

One thing you might not notice — but is very important to JAL — is the sustainability aspect of the A350-1000. These models reduce CO₂ emissions by approximately 25% compared to conventional aircraft. And when mealtime arrives, you’ll appreciate the diverse options on offer and non-petroleum-derived plastic tableware and cutlery. These initiatives create a more pleasant flight that’s also better for society.

Exploring the Classes

Each seat has been reconsidered throughout the aircraft to offer improved comfort and relaxation. First Class and Business Class provide fully private environments, while Premium Economy Class offers enhanced privacy and comfort. Economy Class has been redesigned with more spacious seating and ample legroom.

In the A350-1000’s First Class — JAL’s largest, most comfortable personal space to date — guests can enjoy four modular seating options within private suites. The modular furniture can be configured into a full sofa, side seat with a single bed or full double bed.

JAL looks towards innovation to differentiate itself from other airlines with the world’s first built-in headrest speakers in their First and Business Class seats. Both classes also offer doored suites with a digital do-not-disturb sign for a more private experience and cleverly hidden storage spaces within the suites featuring a built-in personal wardrobe.

The A350-1000’s Business Class is JAL’s first foray into private rooms in the business class cabin, offering exclusive personal spaces finished with large 24-inch monitors, private wardrobes and easy-access luggage storage.

In yet another world’s first, the A350-1000’s Premium Economy Class offers larger privacy partitions, electronically reclinable seating and motorised leg rests that rise horizontally for increased comfort.

The airline has long been known for offering the world’s highest-quality Economy Class, and it continues this legacy with uniquely angled reclining seats that are more comfortable from the moment you sit down. The 13-inch 4K monitor is the largest offered in Economy Class, allowing for more immersive experiences.
