Meet Malaysia Airlines’ New Airbus A330neo Plane: What To Expect

ARE YOU READY TO TAKE your flying experience to the next level? Malaysia Airlines is here to do just that. With the introduction of its new Airbus A330neo plane, both new and returning passengers have lots to look forward to on this exciting new entry into the Malaysia Airlines fleet.

Business Class passengers can expect an elevated experience with increased privacy and enhanced spaces, while Economy Class passengers benefit from award-winning seat design for improved ergonomics and comfort. Throughout the aircraft, thoughtful adjustments result in up to 25% reduction in fuel usage and emissions, improving the experience for passengers and the planet.

Here’s what you can expect when you board the A330neo

Malaysia Airlines’ new A330neo will have 297 seats, 269 of which are Economy Class — 24 with extra legroom — and 28 of which are Business Class.

The aircraft features the exclusive latest generation engine — the impressive Trent 7000 from Rolls Royce. The A330neo also features a wider wingspan, spreading across 64m to reduce drag and increase lift at all speeds and every phase of your flight.

And lest you think the plane is high on function while sacrificing form, the interior boasts elegant design. It has a relaxing and beautifully lit cabin with an opulent songket ceiling that reminds passengers that they are aboard Malaysia’s national flag carrier airline.

Business Class Cabin: Complete Privacy and Ultimate Comfort

Business Class air travel has steadily improved over the last decade, and Malaysia Airlines is setting the bar even higher with its new plane. Introducing Malaysia Airlines’ first all-suite cabin featuring individual privacy doors that let passengers enjoy intimate space and arrive refreshed.

The all-suite Business Class cabin features luxurious Collins Aerospace Elevation Business Class seats, direct aisle access for every passenger as well as wireless charging pods at all seats. The seats provide smooth movements from upright and fully-flat bed mode for next level comfort.

With this introduction, Malaysia Airlines is set to become the world’s leading carrier to feature Elevation seats on the A330 airframe, solidifying its position as an industry leader in passenger experience and innovation.

Economy Class Cabin: More Space and Indulgence

The highlight of the new Economy Class cabin is its award-winning Recaro CL3810 Economy Class seats. With an ergonomic design and enhanced support — coupled with thoughtful amenities such as coat hooks, a cup holder and ample stowage — passengers indulge in increased cabin comfort and practicality.

The seat covers throughout the cabin feature the airline’s signature songket motif, seamlessly blending tradition with contemporary style to pay homage to Malaysia’s cultural heritage.

Additional Features: Malaysian Hospitality At Its Finest

From wireless charging pods to ergonomic seat cushions and highly integrated in-flight entertainment (IFE) solutions, including kids’ mode, passengers find ample space to work, relax, and dine in ultimate comfort.

In economy, the in-flight entertainment screen size of 13.3-inch is a market leader capable of playing 4k content.

To increase connectivity throughout the aircraft, it will be fitted with Wi-Fi accessible by each passenger, ensuring that passengers can experience practical work space in the cabin or keep in touch with family and friends.

The A330neo sets the benchmark of exciting things to come as Malaysia Airlines continues to redefine what air travel is and what it can be. This milestone fleet addition sets a new standard in the airline’s transformational journey and promises a future filled with unparalleled experiences beyond the confines of the aircraft.
