Long Weekends in Hong Kong 2025: How to plan your vacations
December 25, 2024 – January 1, 2025

In 2024, Christmas will be celebrated on a Wednesday, with a public holiday on Thursday, December 26. New Year’s Day will likewise fall on a Wednesday, January 1, 2025. If you take vacation on December 27, 30, and 31, you will have a total of eight consecutive days off from December 25 to January 1.
January 29 to February 2
Enjoy a five-day long weekend in light of the Lunar New Year celebration. January 29-31 (Wednesday to Friday) are public holidays in Hong Kong. This is followed by the weekend of February 1-2.
April 4-6
The Ching Ming Festival, aka Tomb Sweeping Day, occurs on Friday, April 4. This public holiday may be easily paired with the weekend for a longer vacation.

April 18-21
The Easter holidays promise a four-day long weekend. Good Friday is on April 18, followed by the weekend and Easter Monday falls on April 21.

The Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival is on October 6 (Monday), with a public holiday on October 7. Club it with October 4-5 (Saturday and Sunday), and you will have a four-day long weekend in October.
October 29
The Chung Yeung Festival falls on Wednesday. If you take two days off before or after October 29, you can enjoy a five-day long weekend!
December 25-28
