Discover the Vibrant Heart of Phu Quoc at Sun Paradise Land

A DESTINATION THAT HAS RAPIDLY gained momentum as a sun-drenched hot spot, the Vietnamese island of Phu Quoc is becoming even more desirable thanks to increased connectivity and a more relaxed attitude toward extended stays.

With 28 inbound flights daily delivering delighted travellers to its sunny shores from all over the world, getting to the tropical paradise is always getting easier. There are daily flights from Korea, Taiwan, Malaysia and Thailand — as well as countries as far-flung as Slovakia, Czech Republic, Poland, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Mongolia.

A visa exemption for the island, introduced a few years ago, makes visiting even simpler. Most international guests can stay on the island for up to 30 days without a visa.

One of the other things that international visitors love about Phu Quoc is greater value for money than other, more established vacation destinations.

The budget-friendly cost of living means that the price of a 3-day stay in Phu Quoc is far cheaper than that of a weekend in Koh Samui, Singapore or other regional holiday destinations.

In fact, research shows that Phu Quoc is three to four times less expensive than Singapore, with the average cost of a night in a hotel in Singapore priced at SGD 150, while a similar room in Phu Quoc will only set you back SGD 50.

When you consider the incredible prices coupled with stunning beaches, incredibly flavourful food and lively entertainment, Phu Quoc and the southern part of the archipelago — known as Sun Paradise Land — are especially alluring to families, groups, couples, digital nomads and more.

But, you might be asking yourself, what can you do once you’ve arrived?

Creme de la Creme

One of the most popular areas on the island is Kem Beach in Sun Paradise Land, which hosts some of the best hotels and resorts on the southern part of the island, including JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay, New World Phu Quoc, Premier Residences Phu Quoc Emerald Bay, and Premier Village Phu Quoc.

Named after the high quality of its smooth, white sand, Kem translates to ‘cream’ in English, perfectly capturing the gelato-like texture of the beach. Combined with the sea’s twinkling emerald colour, the effect is a unique natural setting ideal for a quick weekend away or a full holiday with all the trimmings.

Sao Beach

For tourists who yearn for adventure, Sao Beach is a hidden gem that hits all the marks as a seductive coastal chill spot as well as a centre for local water sports.   Framed by swaying coconut palms and vibrant undergrowth, Sao Beach’s calm waters are ideal for diving, snorkelling, fishing, night squid fishing, and kayaking.

Rules of Attraction

Things to do in Sun Paradise Land are not limited to watersports and adventuring under the sea. Sunset Bay in Sunset Town, opposite the popular Kiss Bridge attraction, hosts the incredible Symphony of the Sea.

The thrilling show, which happens at 7:45 pm every night, is an exhilarating procession of death-defying jet skiing and flyboard demos, colourful pyrotechnics and masterful music and dance performances, including a display of more than 400 fireworks, including rare water fireworks that explode on contact with water, lighting up with explosive bursts of colour and noise.

One of the best spots to take in this wonderful festival of light, music and sports is Sun Bavaria Bistro. The bar and dinner show venue has picked up a plethora of positive reviews, elevating it to one of the premier nightlife destinations in Phu Quoc, with a mix of inventive dining and vibrant live entertainment.

The two-floor restaurant incorporates large glass doors and a transparent roof that creates an airy atmosphere, enhancing the stunning vistas of the sky, azure sea and Kiss Bridge. Each evening, guests are treated to breathtaking views, connecting them to the vastness of the night sky while indulging in joyous festivities.

One of the highlights of Sun Bavaria GastroPub is its proprietary craft beer brand, Sun KraftBeer, brewed locally in Phu Quoc using a state-of-the-art brewing system from Braukon, a renowned German manufacturer. Crafted from a centuries-old Bavarian recipe, the exceptionally tasty beer is made with premium barley and hops sourced from Germany, New Zealand and the United States, adapting them into six distinct and refreshing flavours.
