Twelve Bites, Six Guests: Park Hyatt Jakarta's Omakase Afternoon Tea Offers Seasonal, Artful Sophistication

NESTLED IN JAKARTA’S VIBRANT and leafy Menteng district, Park Hyatt Jakarta graces the top 19 floors of a 37-story tower, bridging the city’s historic sites and contemporary downtown. The hotel’s design narrative draws inspiration from Indonesia’s lush rainforests, artfully transitioning from shadowy, grounded atmospheres to light-filled, airy spaces.

The 220 guest rooms and suites elegantly capture this natural essence. Local trembesi wood is used, while carefully curated Indonesian artworks — including intricate suntiang headdresses and richly patterned batik textiles — breathe cultural authenticity into the luxurious accommodations.

The hotel elevates its food and drink experience with an Omakase Afternoon Tea. This creative and delicious journey reimagines the traditional afternoon tea, offering guests a distinctive and refreshing interpretation that celebrates local flavours and artistic creativity.

Immersive Tea Experiences

Pairing the traditional with the innovative, Omakase Afternoon Tea is an immersive tea experience. First launched in October 2024, the unique teas have been a resounding success.

Unlike traditional teas, this exclusive offering is limited to just six guests per seating, creating personal dining moments. Pastry Chef Ali Saleh has developed a five-course menu that breaks away from standard expectations. Twelve carefully crafted items move through a progression of flavours, mixing local flavours with international ingredients.

The teas are held inside the lobby-level Conservatory’s The Patisserie, a picturesque haven with four distinct areas with stunning city views and a unique atmosphere.

Each course is designed to tell a story, moving from savoury to sweet in a way that keeps guests intrigued. The menu isn’t just about taste—it’s about creating a dynamic culinary journey that engages all the senses.

Journeys of Discovery

“Our goal is to take guests on a journey of discovery, where each dish tells a story and delivers an element of surprise,” said Chef Saleh. “We’ve carefully curated this menu to balance tradition and innovation, creating an unforgettable experience for every guest.”

The Omakase Afternoon Tea menu changes, adapts and evolves with each season, reflecting unique themes and seasonal inspirations. This allows the culinary experts to constantly feel inspired to change, create and grow in inspiring new ways — and it gives guests a reason to return each season, creating a touching tradition for families or friends.

“Each season’s menu tells a story—whether inspired by nature, culture, or ingredients—and aims to engage the senses while honouring the art of gastronomy,” Chef Saleh added.

The Omakase Afternoon Tea offers an intimate, evolving adventure. Limited to only six guests per seating, guests experience culinary creativity through seasonally changing, meticulously crafted dishes that challenge and delight.

The Omakase Afternoon Tea is available in The Patisserie every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, with two sessions offered each day between 2:30 PM and 5:30 PM. For reservations, call +62 21 3111 1234 or email reservations.jakarta@hyatt.com.
